Psychotherapy
I am a licensed psychotherapist with over a decade of clinical experience in private practice, community mental health, and nonprofit organizations in Chicago.
My psychotherapy formation includes a degree in psychology, with a foundation in developmental psychopathology and personality theories, graduate studies in social work and clinical mental health, followed by specialization in psychodynamic and attachment-based psychotherapy, and further study in global mental health.
My theoretical orientation developed in the line of Bowlby and Ainsworth, and continued through American and British psychodynamic school of thought, with particular interest in the development of the self, object relations, defense mechanisms, and the relational conditions that shape emotional life.
My interest in global mental health reflects a broader concern with how culture and society shape psychic life: how displacement, violence, migration, climate anxiety, and the environment can affect mental health.
I work with adults in individual psychotherapy and offer consultation and supervision to clinicians through two group models: Attachment Psychodynamic Consultation and Transcultural Attachment Consultation.
I serve as a mentor with the Psychotherapy Action Network (PsiAN), supporting early- and mid-career therapists in developing depth-oriented clinical practice.
